If you're in Paris in April and have a penchant for both photographer Nan Goldin and black-lacquered dildos, then - it must be said - you have the most amazing luck; Nan has nearly forty lots of personal belongings up for auction at Christie's in Paris on 7th April 2009, including five of her photos, a bit of period furniture, some stuffed Siamese baby lambs (gruesome), and... a black-lacquered dildo, "probably Asian" (according to the online catalogue).I've written a little article about it all on the Paris Newsblog. Guess if you stood it upright and painted a happy face on it in gold, it could be quite a conversation piece...
why not.
the question remains entire: 'how much ?' because this is just not anybody's dildo. it is nan goldin's dildo.
